Product Description
This kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for multifunctional inflammatory cytokine/adipokine belonging to TNF super-family, secreted by macrophage/monocytes, which is involved in systemic inflammation and stimulates acute phase reaction.
Test Principle
The TNF alpha present in the sample binds to pre coated Anti TNF-α monoclonal antibody on polystyrene microtiter plate. Non bound or the excess substances are removed by washing. Biotinylated polyclonal Anti TNF alpha antibody is added to each well. After washing, Streptavidin Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells which bind to the biotinylated antibody in the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound antibody-enzyme reagent, substrate solution is added to the wells. A colored product is formed in proportion to the amount of TNF alpha present in the sample or standards. The color development is stopped by addition of a stop solution. The absorbance is measured at 450 nm in a microtiter plate reader. The concentration of TNF alpha in a sample can be interpolated from the standard curve.
